The nightmare is over. All 13 fuckin' months of it. Today I got an official job offer. No more crappy 1960's office, no more sitting in the canteen staring at the walls because there's nothing else to do on lunch break if you don't have a car, no more tedious repetitive database work which bores the living daylights out of me. From now on I will be working in the city centre, just two minutes' walk from my new flat (which I'll be moving into the weekend before I start) in a nice modern office with an on-site gym, restaurant, PS2 room and Internet access at all computers.

I think I know how Steve McQueen felt when he rode that motorcycle over the fence. Today is a good day (whistles theme from "The Great Escape"). I plan to celebrate by going to see these guys at the Mixing Tin in Leeds tonight and these lovable rogues at Joseph's Well tomorrow.
