Oh I've been waiting a long time
So take me home driver
Make me more wise
And tell me more about drinking
All it's evil ways
And then I will be your friend
So please be my guide
Be my light
Can you really help me now?
I'm lost and there's no way out tonight
When I was young
Oh my mum, she used to laugh at me and cry
"You'll be lonely when you die
Couldn't help it if you tried"
I've been home for so long now
So take me back will you?
To the thrills of town
And tell me more about women
Yes I had two last night
So can I be your friend now?
Please be my guide
Be my light
Can you really help me now?
I'm lost and there's no way out tonight
When I was young
Oh my mum, she used to laugh at me and cry
"You'll be despised when you die
Couldn't change it if you tried"
Oh I've been waiting a long time
Yes I've been waiting a long time
So tonight, let it be my night

Bit of a mixed weekend really. Selfish Cunt were excellent on Friday night - forget anything you might have read about them being yet another drony post-Libertines band, this lot are streets ahead of rubbish like Babyshambles and Razorlight.
On the minus side, fell off of the smoking bandwagon with a heavy thump. Drat.
Saturday, spent the afternoon in Bradford getting a couple of cheap CD's and Gamecube games. Always good.
Unfortunately, Saturday night was a disappointment. Is it just me or have my friends in Leeds become a lot more boring of late? There was a time about 3-6 months ago when us meeting up on a Saturday night would be a call to find the nearest rock club, get drunk on JD & Coke, Jagermeister and Newky Broon and try and persuade some gorgeous goth/rock chicks that we were a sound bet to share a taxi home with. Yet last night (and this is becoming a worryingly regular occurrence), the night was as good as finished by 10 with various people saying "nah, I can't stay out, the missus wouldn't like it."
It's depressing, not least for the fact that the accused are about 2-3 years younger than me yet for all the comparative enthusiasm the three of us show for nights out on the town these days, I might as well be about 20 while they might as well be about 38...sigh...what can ya do?
Ah well...spent today in the pub with some of my mates from Bradford (who, happy to say, still share my enthusiasm for going out and enjoying ourselves and have promised me a night out at Rio's next Saturday - yay!
) which was what I needed really. Plus a 20 win on the fruit machine didn't exactly hurt either.
So...hope everyone else had a good weekend. Catch y'all later.

We have suffered the 'mates becoming sensible' catastrophe also. It must be something in the Yorkshire water.

Well fingers crossed I'll be living in Leeds (or possibly York) by that point in time... so yeah!
