Ignorance ain't hard to find
If you know where to look
A lot of mouth from a boring prat
And a nose stuck in a book
Cockney Rejects - "In The Underworld" (1980)
Quite a sedate weekend by my standards. Went out for a few beers Friday night which was fun. Although the subsequent hangover wasn't...
Saturday...well, fixing the amp wasn't the big problem I'd feared thanks to borrowing a soldering iron from my sis and it was done by half ten. As such, took the train up to Teesside to visit the old man and see the mighty Pools give an extremely physical and vicious Hull City side (so what's new I hear you say) a good kicking 2-0.
Spent the train journey up and back listening to me new Exploited albums...feck me but those lads rule. Currently attempting to master the chords to "Dogs Of War" on my newly-fixed guitar amp.
Was slightly knackered Saturday night so skipped the pub for a trip to the cinema with my sister to see "Super-Size Me". Would heartily recommend the film but suffice to say I don't think I'll be eating any McDonald's, Burger King or KFC for quite a long time after seeing that...
As for today, been into Leeds and got the following
- DVD player for twenty quid. Yay me!
- New mega-size memory card for my Gamecube - will do some transferring tonight then hopefully drop the old one off at the local exchange some time next week and get a bit of money back on it.
Unfortunately, the record shop and theatre were shut so purchasing tickets for Bowling For Soup next Tuesday and Mark Thomas in a couple of weeks will have to wait.
Then spent the rest of the afternoon in the pub with a couple of good mates watching the footy, drinking beer and talking absolute bollocks. Always the best way.
Hope everyone else had a good weekend - speak soon.
Yorkie
Oh and PS - only remembered this from reading Caz's journal but today I had a chat with one of the lads, sorted a few things out and (yippee! Champagne in the Yorkie Arms!) NEXT MONTH I AM MOVING HOUSE!!! AT LONG FECKIN' LAST - FREEDOM!!!!

It's just some big muscly guy pretending to be the singer! It's in b&w i think. Cool anyway. Maybe you can get cable in your new place?

It took a couple of listens to get to grips with it, but I really like it now. It's definately the heaviest album they've come out with, and it actually sounds more like Pleasure Death than anything else - which was unexpected but cool.
