Okay, before you say "uh-oh, that slightly mad northerner's finally flipped, his birthday's not for another eight months", let me explain - tomorrow is a year to the day since this happened!
Yes, it's official - I am officially one SG year old! Yay me!
Seems like yonks ago now...back in July 2003, I was still working as a computer technician (albeit on a good two grand less than I get now in my seriously boring job), Primitive Promotions was still just a twinkle in the eyes of me and primate (who's moving house today to a place which actually has a phoneline so hopefully he should finally soon be back on here!!), I'd been single six months since my lapdancer ex had packed her bags and headed off to Italy to live with a guy who's a music video director conveniently telling me all this two weeks after she'd gone via text message (don't ask...
although spookily I've currently been single around six months as well 
) and was just kind of browsing through here after reading a feature on the site in Bang magazine (RIP) which also featured an interview with Nic and Asha.
Since then, I've changed my username twice, found a new girlfriend
, promptly got dumped by her four weeks later but now may have another one (off to a rock club with her tonight which will hopefully lead to us going out for a meal tomorrow night - keep your fingers crossed for me everyone), lost my job, got a new one, resigned, had them ask me to come back again and FINALLY today been given a permanent contract there. My band's also seen more comings and goings than your average brothel, I've launched an acoustic solo career which seems to be going well and started a promotions company that's managed to book three gigs so far with hopefully more to come in the months ahead. So it certainly hasn't been a dull 12 months... 
I've also met some great people on here, been to some top meet-ups and festivals and generally had a great time. To everyone I've met, got drunk with, gone camping with, chatted to or even just exchanged witty banter with on here, a big hearty slice of Yorkshire pie and a loud shout of "yer alright you!" to the lot of yers. Here's to another 12 months in this "land of enchantment and cigarette Mustang girls"
