But it's pure mania, it's stopped being a game
Since you found it would take ya to the asylum again
Well you ain't got no asylum babe but you sure got nine to five
You better go and find a doctor honey, see if you're alive

The Vibrators - "Pure Mania" (1978)

Old Chinese proverb - "May you never live in interesting times". How true.

Last two days have been extremely quiet. This, normally, is a bad thing. But not this week. Not after the Monday I had... shocked

I got back from Stoke Sunday evening as you all know if you read the last entry. Now, as you may or may not know, my car was in for its MOT over the weekend (it passed meaning I can go to Download - yay! biggrin ) and, because of being over in the Potteries, I couldn't pick it up from the garage. So I asked my mum to do it for me.

No hassle. Until Monday morning when I discover that my Mum, who's more used to driving an automatic car, had forgotten to put the choke back in on getting back home. Meaning it had been out for two days and the engine was flooded. Cue one call to the RAC. Bloke promptly turns up, sorts the problem out and advises me to leave the engine running for ten minutes so as to make sure the same thing won't happen when I start it again.

"Fair do's" I think and head back into my house to finish the game of "Pokemon Colosseum" which I was in the middle of. Ten mins later, I quickly leave the game again to go switch the engine off (fully intending to put off going into work as long as possible as I hadn't specified when I'd be in when calling them earlier to tell them about my "cartrouble, oo-woo-woo" (copyright Adam & The Ants wink )

...and I left my house keys on the table and bloody locked myself out with the TV and Gamecube still on! Aarrgh! mad So, left with no other option, I headed into work. First thing I did was ask my boss if I could finish early so I could nip into the city and see my mum and get the house key off her (decent bloke that he is he luckily agreed as did the agency I work for) then go home.

3pm, finally get home very tired, very exhausted and just a bit pissed off. The only bright spot was getting a half-day which allowed me to do some minor-scale window-shopping in Leeds including the purchase of the new Ash and Charlatans albums (one great, one not so much), new singles by Agent Blue and the Kaiser Chiefs and a copy of "Wallace and Gromit Project Zoo" for my Gamecube via the HMV sale (15! Yay! biggrin ).

So then...a busy first bit of the week for me, how 'bout everyone else? confused

Btw, while I'm here, I've noticed a lot of people on my friends list seem to have been suffering from bad luck lately. Now this will not do - bad karma should not affect good people (and anyone nice enough to add me to their friends list automatically qualifies as a good person in my book). So I'm gonna try and redress the balance. I was gonna get a picture of a rabbit's foot to put on my page but couldn't find one. So instead, please have this picture of Dory the life-saving giant rabbit instead.

If you're one of those who's been suffering from bad luck, I hope his benevolent spirit helps turn things round for ya a bit. Never under-estimate rabbit power, that's what I say!! wink

Anyway, more updates later in the week. 'Till then...
