'Cos I, I'm gonna make you see
There's nobody else here, no-one like me
I'm special, so special
I gotta have some of your attention, give it to me
The Pretenders - "Brass In Pocket" (1980)
Just listening to that as I write this - I don't really like the Pretenders that much to be honest but there's no denying that "Brass In Pocket" is one of the finest songs ever written if you ask me.
So anyway, the weekend - most enjoyable so far. Friday I went to Star via Fab Cafe for a girl I'm friends with's birthday. Showed my total level of punk geekiness by singing along word for word to "Jilted John" by Jilted John when it came on the stereo in Fab. Also realised that Star now do Jagermeister for a pound a shot. Most enjoyable feeling the reality shift kick in (just as they played "Epic" by Faith No More as well!
)although I suspect birthday girl regretted asking me to buy her a shot of the stuff - cue one very long trip to the toilet with her mates.
Also had the fun experience of putting a quid in the fruity on my way out and cleaning a cool 28 quid out of the bugger! Looks like paying the garage bill isn't gonna be a problem after all hehe.
Saturday I went to see the old man up on Teesside and had a Chinese which was good before going to see the footy which wasn't so good. But Saturday night I had the enjoyable experience of seeing a gig by the mighty McLusky, probably the most insane band around today. Bloody superb and one of the best nights out I've had in ages. Really, if you've not yet heard these guys do so asap - any band who release a single called "Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues" deserves all the success they get. \m/

Spent most of today round at primate's place sorting stuff out for the next Primitive Promotions gig (May 23rd if anybody's at a loose end) and our official company fanzine which should be out - more on that in entries to come.
Well, it's Sunday night but no work in the morning...ah, how good does that feel?!? Hope everyone's had a great weekend - speak to you all soon.
