Everlone, into the great unknown
Leaving it all to fade for a while
Till the fire in my eyes passes by
The Wildhearts - "Everlone" (1993)
So yeah, a return to relative sanity today. Apologies for the outburst of a few days ago and thanks to everyone who left a sympathetic message on here - much appreciated folks.
So anyway, I had a few "clear the air" talks with some people yesterday and it did me the world of good - I feel as if I've got a bit of a clearer idea about where I stand with the job now (though unfortunately it looks like it really is gonna only be a short-term thing), the insurance thing looks like getting sorted in the next few days meaning I definitely will be able to go to the festivals this summer
and most of the stuff that was taking up so much of my time before appears to now be clearing up which is a healthy-sized load off my mind.
Other stuff I've been up to, in no particular order:
- Done a new desktop! Yay! Click here to see it (thanks also to the very lovely Vicky for being nice enough to approve it.
)
- Laughed my arse off at this Weebl & Bob cartoon. A scathing satire of all things scally-friendly music related and all the better for it.
- Fallen off the smoking bandwagon again. Ah well, if people will stress me out...
- Been listening to the Cockney Rejects ("Greatest Hits Vol 1 & 2"), Billy Idol (the best of), the Bronx ("The Bronx"), Guns 'n' Roses ("Appetite For Destruction" and "Use Your Illusion 1 & 2"), AC/DC ("Highway To Hell"), Young Heart Attack ("Mouthful Of Love"), Nirvana ("Incesticide"), These Animal Men ("Accident And Emergency"), Faith No More ("King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime"), Therapy? ("Suicide Pact You First"), the Senseless Things ("Taking Care Of Business"), South ("With The Tides") and the alternative "Donnie Darko" soundtrack that my little sis made for me. Bit of variety there but it never hurt anyone eh?
- Got some new pics up in my candids - one in the "Now" folder (which is definitely not for the faint-hearted!
) and a few of the Manchester meet earlier this month in the "SG Meets" folder. All good fun.
- Been getting stupidly excited about getting my Download ticket for the weekend.
- Looking forward to Rock of Ages on Saturday night (don't care what anyone says, '80s metal nights are way better than nu-metal ones - plus they play "Out Ta Get Me" by G'n'R if you ask the DJ nicely!)
- Getting some much-needed financial relief via the arrival of various cheques from the bods at Ebay who bought my stuff.
- Having a good laugh at the scally onanist who was next to me in his souped up Ford Orion at the traffic lights listening to that atrocious Wyclef Jean/Brian Harvey collaboration - ooh, there was one musical memory from the past I didn't need. Think a post on the SGUK "Worst Songs Ever" thread is in order.
- And looking forward to "Pokemon Colosseum" being released for the Gamecube. Yeah, I know I'm a sad git.
Have a good weekend everyone - speak soon.
