Why is it that every time I make some effort to try and get ahead in life some fucker instantly slams a door in my face.

I was supposed to be going on three nights out this weekend but have had to cancel all three because the rest of the people I was supposed to be going out with have all bailed citing finances and told me this today. Harsh words were exchanged which I'm probably gonna regret later on but I don't think it's unreasonable to at least expect people to inform you in advance if they can't make it for a night out. Now I have to ring the singer in my band who I was supposed to be putting up tomorrow night and tell him the drinking's off. And he's gonna be pissed off at me for that for exactly the same reason. Fucking hell.

At least I'm off to the SGUK meet in a couple of weeks which should hopefully reassure me that there are still some people out there who believe in the "have a good time all the time" ethos.
