*Finally* found a copy of HPHBP. Read chapter one last night then went to bed. Looks like I'll be putting KOTOR2 aside for awhile (19 hours and no light saber? Please.) and read. This might also make me smoke less, since I can't read high, which is also a good thing.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, last night all the pieces fell into place for my next story ("Crossing the Uncanny Valley"). I'd had the germ of an idea a month or two back, and I've been pondering over it recently. Last night, walking around the apartment, I figured out my MacGuffin, plot, structure, and layout. (I'm not a writer who can begin a story not knowing where it leads). Since I'd earlier bemoaned the death of my muse, this is pretty heady news indeed. To be fair, all the inspiration in the world doesn't make me sit down and get to work.
I've already got my story ready for the August workshop ("Genpuku"), so I've got something like 40 days to work out CtUV. I hope these people apprecate the wild diversity of my work. (Since they're sure as hell not apprecating the quality of the writing
