Whoa. It's storming here. love When Summer hits memphis, there's not much to like, but the sudden thunderstorms that appear and disappear in a flash are one of the good points. Spring storms are less hard core, but a little longer lasting and so still pleasant.

Must leave work now. Dogopolis is probably filled with unhappy right now.

In a side note: it takes almost no effort to get me to go into obsessive detail about Buffy-related things. Example:

[16:38] notme: Season 6 is working just fine.
[16:38] me: Oh yeah? Buy me another six of killians and you can keep it. >Grin<
[16:39] notme: I think that at some point I will get you another 6 beers, but you can keep your discs.
[16:39] me: I mean, they are useless to me.
[16:39] notme: Oh yeah, there's a scratch on disk 2, and "Tabula Rasa" keeps fucking up.
[16:40] me: Ah, weak.. Tabula Rasa's fucking awesome. Shoot me and email and I'll burn you a working copy.
[16:40] me: Does the scratch impact play?
[16:40] notme: planx.constant@gmail.com
[16:40] notme: Yeah, you can get it to play, but only by rewinding from the end of the episode.
[16:41] notme: And then the scratch comes around again 7 minutes later, and it's rewind time.
[16:41] me: Lame.
[16:41] me: Couse, my dvd player won't even read them
[16:41] me: But it reads all other seasons just fine
[16:41] notme: Yeah, frustrating; but I finally got to see it.
[16:41] notme: We just use Emily's laptop.
[16:41] me: Yeah, they'd probably work on my computer.
[16:42] me: I'm going to buy one, anyway, so you're more than welcome to keep them seriously.
[16:42] notme: Thanks.
[16:42] me: You should go back and watch the commentary on them all somtime. *geek*
[16:42] notme: Indeed.
[16:42] notme: That's what we plan to do once we finish all the Buffy and Angel.
[16:42] me: Especially the ones with Joss.
[16:42] me: Yeah, well worth it..
[16:42] notme: I like Angel a lot.
[16:42] me: You could skip most the featurettes and not miss much.
[16:43] me: Ah, good! I'm glad I'm not alone.
[16:43] me: I honestly liked the stand-aloneness of the episodes
[16:43] notme: Roger that.
[16:43] me: The lack of a "big bad" really made it more like a soap opera/comic book
[16:43] notme: I prefer to dwell more on the comic book aspects.
[16:43] me: Seems more organic, somehow, than having a yearly monster to beat.
[16:44] notme: <nerd voice>That's 'graphic novel'</nerd voice>
[16:44] me: You know, the only real "arc" starts in season two and doesn't even resolve until sometihng like season 4.
[16:44] notme: I like that.
[16:44] me: Yeah, I do, too. Think it lends itself to more character development
[16:44] notme: I also like more the overall arc in Buffy, than the seasonal ones.
[16:44] me: Which helps grow the ensemble.
[16:45] me: With buffy, it's always buffy in charge and who kicks most all the ass. With angel you kind of see all the people grow into badasses of a certain type.
[16:45] notme: Like Buffy's development, from shallow and self-absorbed, to dedicated, to isolated, and now starting to be more integrated.
[16:45] notme: I do like the idea of Gunn.
[16:45] me: YEah. Gunn gets *real* interesting, but for my buck no one develops as well as Wesley.
[16:45] notme: If I were homeless and being preyed upon by vampires, I would band together to slaythem.
[16:45] me: His character development is honestly some of the most interesting and compelling stuff I've seen
[16:46] notme: Huh.
[16:46] notme: So far seems a little flat.
[16:46] me: Gotta wait till get done.
[16:46] me: Make a conscious effort to track his effort from apperance to end of show.
[16:46] notme: He seems to be going in the same direction they were taking Giles in, but then Giles left.
[16:47] me: By the time it's all said and done, he's grown through all these phases that came about as a direct result of stuff that happens in the show.
[16:47] notme: Interesting.
[16:47] me: When you get to season four, I think you'll agree...Gunn gets interesting, too, but I quite honestly Wesley is my favorite character in the buffyverse
[16:48] notme: Why did they get rid of Giles, anyway? Was it creatively inspired, or something lame like contract negotiations?
[16:48] notme: Hunh.
[16:48] me: Creatively inspired.... Sort of buffy growing up.
[16:48] me: You'll notice he's never really "out", just shifted off the main credits.
[16:49] notme: Sort of like her mom.
[16:49] notme: Well, up to a point.
[16:49] me: Yeah. She wanted to leave in s4, though and joss said "No! I was going to kill you!" or something
[16:49] notme: "The Body" was one of the best episodes of television I have ever seen./
[16:50] me: OH, yeah. IT doesn't work without watching up to that point and getting attached the the characters, but when you do it's so absolutely *real* that it's mind blowing
[16:50] notme: I had to restart it a few times to be able to watch all the way through.
[16:51] me: Yeah. I've seen it 2 or 3 times, I think. No score is brilliant.
[16:51] me: I think my favorite scene is when Anya and Xander are driving and it's just absolutely silent.
[16:52] me: (Oh, but Anya's breakdown about being called tactless is an awesome moment for the character, since she's almost alway comic)
[16:52] notme: Or where she's staring out the back door, and you can hear kids and windchimes.
[16:52] notme: Also, when Buffy tells Dawn, and you have to watch through the glass in the classroom.
[16:52] me: OH ,yeah.
[16:53] notme: It really communicates how everyone else is external to their grief.
[16:53] me: If I remember correctly, that through the glass thing was an afterthought and/or accident.
[16:53] me: Which is crazy. It seems like the most obvious, perfect scene.
[16:53] notme: It is, indeed.
[16:53] me: I have an endless ability to obsess about Joss Whedon TV shows.
[16:53] notme: I don't think that any other way would have been as effective.
[16:53] me: No, not at all, because you're watching as an outsider twice over.
[16:54] notme: I don't know why he isn't in charge of every TV show ever made.
[16:54] notme: I wish Firefly had gotten a real chance.
[16:54] me: Outsider as real person watching TV, because you're watching the scene from the perspective of the classroom
[16:54] me: And it's just heartbreaking being in those situations as an observer in real life.
[16:55] me: Yeah, Fox can mismange shows like no one else. Family Guy, Firefly, Arrested Development.
[16:55] me: Mutant Enemy all but shut down, so little hope of future shows for awhile.
[16:55] me: I think he prefers film, though, which is a shame.Hopefully Serenity will dominate the screen.
[16:56] notme: I know that I'm going to see it at least twice, just to give it support.
[16:56] me: I know it'll be worth seeing twice.
[16:56] notme: If it's at all accessible to an outsider, I'm going to bring everyone I know.
[16:57] me: Yeah, I'm going to push everyone to go see it with me.
[16:57] me: I read a review on aint it cool (ew) written y someone who didn't know anything about the show
[16:57] notme: And?
[16:57] me: Didn't even have postproduction yet, so no kickin cgi, and he said it was amazing.
[16:58] me: Though, he said that the studio wonk was talking about it like it was supposed to be an Fx picture, when the fx is clearly just gravy

I agree with EldarKinSlayer with the one caveat that Faith was always the hotter of the two Vampire Slayers for me!!

Also, I just love thunder storms.
