Everything I should know seems to be overridden by this thing that is Live8. I've not spent more than 15 minutes this evening without it affecting me. It seems like it might be a big thing. 5 out of 5 pubs i've been in tonight were showing coverage. I liked Peter Kay telling the roadies to "Fuck off Dickhead".
My thoughts is, how many people actually do something? It's easy for people to pop into the supermarket and buy Fairtrade, but how many people actually give to worthwhile charities, the ones working to improve the amenities in the 3rd world countries? I have a direct debit type of thing setup, I can't remember the company though. It all happened through an evil charity worker accosting me in my own house and getting me to sign up to the NSPCC. Then after a few months, I changed my mind, cancelled the direct debit and setup a new one ot this charity. No dirty representitives got paid to recruit me.
