I've just spent about an hour trying to convince a stray cat that I am friendly. Gave it loads of crunchy cat food. It still wouldn't come in the house. I blame our old cat that strolls round like she owns the place. It keeps chasing this small cat away. I locked my old cat away in the bathroom, so she couldn't get out and chase the new one. I'm determined to adopt him (or her, but I think it's a him).
I found our first house cat, when I was four. We were coming back from hospital where we'd been to see my mum in hospital as she was waiting for my little sister to be born (my sister was 2 weeks late and a huge baby) I needed a wee, so we stopped at a layby near out house and this scrawny cat was ferreting aroud trying to eat everything, so we took it home and gave it food. It lived for another 14 years. It's dead now. Like all pets always end up.
