New Year? It seems just like the last one. There's nothing quite like the sobriety that follows a drunken few days. Once the physical poisoning wears off, I always feel mentally empty.

Time to try and re-tell a 2 part joke I think.
PART 1
After the death of Quasimodo, the head priest of the cathedral needs to find a new bell ringer. So he puts adverts up around the city asking for people to fill the position.

A number of people turn up and the priest gives each of them a chance to demonstrate their skills. None of them come even close to the excellent level that Quasimodo had set.

After a few days, and many job interviews later the priest is becoming quite frustrated at the lack of talent. At this point, a man with no arms turns up and asks if the priest would consider him for the position.

"But you have no arms!" replied the priest. "Somehow I just don't think you are right for the job."

"All I ask is that you give me a chance to prove myself" said the man.

So they climed the stairs up into the bell tower, and the man then proceeded to run to each bell and bang his face against them. He nimbly jumped between the bells, and to the priests amazement was nearly as good as his beloved Quasimodo.

"Excellent! You are hired!" shouted the priest.

The man looked up from the bell he was about to ring with his face, and said "Grea...". At this point, the largest bell in the tower swung into him and sent him flying out over the precipice.

The priest rushed down the stairs and out into the courtyard where a crowd was gathering around the mans body.

"Where did he come from? Who is he?" the crowd were all asking.

"I don't know his name, but his face sure rings a bell." replied the priest.

PART 2
The next day, the priest was quite glum about the lack of a decent bell ringer. At about 13:57 in the afternoon, a knock comes on the door.

When the priest answers the door, a man is standing there wearing all black.

"I am the brother of the armless man who fell to his death yesterday from this tower. I would be honoured if you would let me try for the bell ringing job in memory of my brother."

The priest agrees, and they proceed to the bell tower and the man begins ringing the bells. He is not quite as skilled as his dead brother was, but was definately much better than anyone else who applied for the job.

Just as the man was approaching the finale, a fierce gust of wind blew the man over the edge of the tower and he fell to his death.

Again, the priest rushed down the stairs and out into the courtyard where a crowd was gathering around the mans body.

"Where did he come from? Who is he?" the crowd were all asking.

"I don't know his name, but he's a dead ringer for his brother" the priest said.
