Well, all's well that ends well. D. spent over an hour telling Val how sorry he was for what he did, he was drunk, ect. He dropped the charges... after the cops had picked me up at work..... I damn near got fired over that 
I said I was sorry for going so overboard, and he graciously accepted. Not only has he agreed to see a therapist, but he actually told me he was glad I did what I did... 
he said it was a wake up call for him, he also said a little gentler would have been nice 
We all learned something from this; Val learned she didn't have to be a punching bag, D. learned about his (obvious to everyone else) anger problem, and I learned to even though I despise fighting, that if the need arises I can still give as good as I get if not better.
Oh yeah, I GUESS that I learned that badly beating your friends is something to be avoided.
The only really good thing is that Val and I managed to pull off a major bullshit story on D's boss and save his job while he's recovering.
Well I gotta crash, but since I'm in such a good mood I'll leave with a pleasing closer...
PS. You gotta imagine the new NIN single, hand that feeds playing, since I can't put it here.
