So, I'm sitting here listening (obnoxiously loud) to my latest mix cd for work. As it shuffles through for the third time I have not one but epiphanies; 1. I need to get more music. 2. I need to get an Ipod or other mp3 player to make this whole mix cd thing a thing of the past.

Hell, all I really listen to at...

Welcome to SGMC!

You probably already know, Mark Twain once said "The root of all laughter is 'I'm glad it wasn't me,' therefore there is no laughter in heaven."

I actually like desert riding and have a few tricks to offer. First, I LOVE my Platypus drinking water bag with hose. It's the one with the Ziploc style opening, so I just ask for extra ice water at rest stops, and pour the cup into the bag. The hose clips to my jacket collar, and I can sip while I ride even with a full-face helmet. I have the 1-liter size that fits inside the tankbag or a big jacket pocket.

The second tip come from a 1976 book called The Compleat Motorcycle Nomad. The author, Roger Lovin, suggests wearing a light-colored wool sweater soaked in water. The wool holds a LOT of water, so you don't keep stopping to re-wet your t-shirt. Also, the wool controls how much breeze comes through and keeps it just right for me. The long sleeves prevent sunburn. My only complaint is that roadrash protection is nil. I keep a plastic bag handy so that at rest stops I can go to the bathroom, put the sweater in the bag, run some warm water in, and squish it around until the sweater is wet. Wring out the sweater, and put it on when you're back out at the bike.

Ok, anyone who saw the last entry.... try to forget about. I'm not going to let what he did get me down. Granted it is pretty fucked up and sad but... fuck it, it happened, I wasn't there to prevent it, so three people died.

Do I think that something like this would have happened if I were still there?? Sure.
Do I think I...

Got your app to SG Motorcycles. Please post in MY journal a little bit about what you ride, where, how long you've been riding, etc. If you don't currently ride, say something about why you should be a member of SGMC anyway. Anything to let me know you're actually interested in SGMC will do. If you know a current SGMC member, have him/her leave me a note in my journal.

Thanks.

I am sorry about your friend. Be careful out there, I'm sure he & the others aren't in a hurry for you to join them.

I agree entirely with you regarding speeding tickets. I thought the constitution guaranteed "Life, liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness at speeds up to 15 above the posted limit"

OOOHHHHH YEAH, it be rant time.
It shall be in this order; The Bad, The Worse, and The Glimmer of Hope.

The Bad
We found out yesterday that we (whole plant) wouldn't be getting the raises we were promised two months ago. mad
You know how in some situations, large numbers of people can communicate and reach a concensus without words? Well that happened with us....

Ok, after reading some of my past entries it has occured to me that I've been just a tiny bit negative lately. Henceforth I promise to forget about the shit that's going on now and try to be a little more pleasent, at least for a while smile
After all, I don't really see anything worse happening than what has already occured.

On an even lighter note I actually updated a few things in the profile. If you can spot what's different then you get your choice of a kiss or a gold star.

(edited for horrible spelling... did I mention I just got up??)

Ever so slowly I am getting my life where I want it. I've been out from under the thumb of religious tyranny for enough years that I am almost a regular person now. Far from normal ( or sane) I have my own place and good paying job. I'm still lacking a girlfriend but that will change with time, now that I've begun to slowly...

Hey- I saw your coment in MlleMinx's journal about emailing Ben Dixon about your tattoo. If you go with him, I really highly doubt you'd be disappointed. I hung out in the shop in Lebanon damn near every day for over a year, and I have seen him do INCREDIBLE work.

Oh, and I noticed in your journal you work at Gibson. Do you know a guy named Phillip (he would be nearly covered in tattoos, scar on his arm, kinda short, with dark hair and I think a lip ring)? Anyway, he worked at Gibson for a while and he's also really good friends with everyone at Lone Wolf. The best way to get the best deal is to know someone that's really good friends with Ben and the guys.

I can see how some girls would be creeped out by the customers who just want to talk. It's not the paradigm they're used to.
I would think that's a pretty good return customer though. biggrin

The zx6r is a Kawasaki Ninja. Ye olde engine is a 636. Yup, I love her.

I appreciate the (almost) offer of your photography skills. I've done test shots with a few people and I think I have found the right one for the job. My set idea is a technical nightmare, though, so I'll just have to see how it goes.

Well I have decided. I'm gonna get a part time job, quit Gibson and go back to school and finish my computer networking and IT training. Fuck my critics, my detractors, the nay-sayers and Fuck the Boss. I have bled and suffered for that job and it isn't worth it anymore. Thanks to my former dedication to the buffing department I have chronic tendosynovitis...

In the begining was the Plan . . . . . . . . . . . .

And then came the Assumptions.

And the Assumptions were without form.

And the Plan was without substance.

And darkness was upon the face of the Workers.

And they spoke among themselves, saying, " It is a crock of shit, and it stinks."

And the Workers went unto...

"Deep Into That
Darkness Peering
Long I Stood There,
Wondering....
Fearing
Doubting."

'Edgar Alan Poe'

Have you ever been on acid and sat in a dark room with nothing but a candle and stared into a mirror? It's an experience everyone should have at least once in their life.
It's been a few years since I last fried but I saw that quote from Poe...

It's been a while since I mis-spent my youth with that particular substance of choice, but the introspective trip can be a wonderful thing... or a pisser of a way to spend 12 hours. surreal

Hi there, btw. Nice to "see" another local face.

Well its been 2 days since I caught the Lennon show..... my ears have finally stopped ringing smile T he show was awsome. We had Dead Sun, Bombshell Crush, Lennon, and Beauty School Dropouts. Sadly I had to leave after Lennon finished due to the simple fact that I couldn't hear anymore. Although I loved the show and thought that she was great, I still think...
