OOOHHHHH YEAH, it be rant time.
It shall be in this order; The Bad, The Worse, and The Glimmer of Hope.
The Bad
We found out yesterday that we (whole plant) wouldn't be getting the raises we were promised two months ago.
You know how in some situations, large numbers of people can communicate and reach a concensus without words? Well that happened with us. As soon as we heard that, in groups of five and ten, all hundred or so of us stood up and started to leave. When the boss asked where we were going everyone said HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The look of pure horror on his face was so fucking priceless. After a moment of silence he begged us to stay and swore to plead the case to the plant supervisor in the morning. (I'll save the results for the Glimmer of Hope section)
The Worse
I found out today that my best friend of 10 years went and say our old friend the chemist for a few goodies. I don't know what he got, but whatever it was he flipped and killed his girlfriend (pregnant). And the topper is, after he came out of his haze, he called me and left a tear filled voicemail confessing, teh he apparently called a mutual friend and did the same, then he hung himself.
Of course I can't get leave to fly out to Cali for the funeral. So now out of our little group of five. I am the last survivor.
Once there were five, then one got shot. Then there were four, untill one overdosed. Then there were three. Then one wrecked his car. Then there were two. Then one commited suicide after killing his girlfriend and unborn child. And now there is only one.
Truly this was a sad day for me.
The Glimmer of Hope.
David was the one who turned me on to Giger, so I guess when I get the tat it will be a memorial of sorts as well.
The other glimmer of hope is that The BIG MAN, came down to negotiate over the raises. We (my department) managed to talk out way to a 5% raise versus the 3% he wanted to give us.
Yay! I finally broke the wall and make over $14 and hour
Of course I'm averaging 4.5-5 hours a week OT at 21.50 and hour so I'm happy
This concludes the rant.
Hopefully the next update will be a little happier

After all, I don't really see anything worse happening than what has already occured.
On an even lighter note I actually updated a few things in the profile. If you can spot what's different then you get your choice of a
