Seems silly to overwrite another blog in the same day, given how sporadically I update, but hey - that's sporadic..icism...ness for you.
I wrote this email to a favorite podcaster of mine and was curious to see if anyone on SG wants to start thinking about stuff that really serves no constructive purpose:

Good weekend. Saturday I went to my brother's girlfriend's divorce party. It's complicated. But as of now, she's a somewhat less dishonest woman.
It was at a bar they frequent with karaoke on Tuesdays and Saturdays. I'd been once before and had my first karaoke singing experience, this was the second. I did "No One Knows" by Queens of the Stone Age, "Plush" by Stone...

Nice place. I wish my shoe box of an apartment looked half as good. Then again, after last week I feel grateful for having a decent place at all.
I also saw your halloween photos. If I haven't mentioned it before, I think you are rather handsome. The costume helps, too. Everybody loves a good ghost story come to life. Apart from the victims, perhaps.

I wouldn't feel to bad about that. Bosnia was back in '92-'96 and I barely remember much about that myself, apart from random news report images of a rainy and gray Sarajevo. I was eight years old and remember thinking it was incredibly boring.
Hooray, moved back into my place today. Living with the parents was pretty much pain-free, but man I'm glad to be home.
The place is awesome. Pictures forthcoming tomorrow, one I get a digital camera in here.

Went up to Flagstaff for Halloween. Wow. It was really nice to experience it in a town that loves the holiday. Any time I've tried to do something in the Phoenix area, I haven't found a scene that indulges as fully as this.

Thank you. I know, it's been so long.
porphyria:
Ooo nice duds.
Shut up and watch it. The whole thing.
porphyria:
Hmm, I'll check it out, thanks.
Haha...Tim Minchin is lulz.
When guys tell me to shut up I go wide eyed and get weak at the knees.

I knew it'd be on a whim that I resubscribed, and that's just what it was. Hey SG. I'll try not to be such a loudmouth this time.
Still have that job I mentioned in my last few posts, and it's going well. Making more money than I ever have before, though I'm still not exactly rolling in cash. I do see how I could...

You'll soon be 28. I'll find one and mail it to you. I bet that's one thing you never expected for your birthday.

Haha, well I love that you make those referances, I should do a flesh crafter set call it Ode to Vicissitude, I think that'd make HQ's fingures twitch to the reject button in record time, xp...
Yea no worries, Im not leaving anytime soon, just feeling frosty, I know its a company and it needs to appeal to the bottom line, its just sad that its habits are scaring away the creatures that I feel should define it. But we cant all win.

I canceled my SG membership. Fear not, I'm just planning on taking a break while I need to focus on the new job. I'll be back in a few months, once I get into the swing of things. Just too tempting to burn through time on the boards and in groups, so I'm removing the possibility.

Also the point you bring up about personal identity...I've thought a lot about that, too. Have you ever seen Armitage III? It deals with similar notions, except instead of arguing the point of whether or not a human is still human if they've been given cybernetic enhancements, it deals with creating cyborgs so enhanced that they mimick humans in every way. Would a robot capable of mimicking everything from human behavior to human thought be considered to have a personal identity? Though this sort of theme has appeared in a lot of different animes, especially the Animatrix. It's not really new by any means but still interesting to ponder.

I'm not putting this response in the thread because DR seems to be pissed with me, and he does not need any more stress right now.
The guy who gets pulled over (for whatever reason), gets tested for DUI and blows over the limit is getting arrested, since society now treats DUI far more seriously than it did 20 or 30 years ago. DUI is now considered a major public hazard in a way that jaywalking is not. That's why you don't see decades-long national anti-jaywalking campaigns from MAJW (mothers against jaywalking), for example.
Where the officer's discretion, training and judgment come into play in that situation is deciding to test the driver in the first place, a decision made before the breathalyzer even comes out.

My new job is scary.
Actually, it's not so scary. The Internet is scary. My new job just teaches me how to use it. But this stuff is available to everyone.
In related news, I was going to go make an effort to strike up a conversation with comic book store girl today. As I was getting ready to leave, however, I decided that I'd...

I read your post on Otoki's blog. I too love being a rogue, but I started out as a Warlord. Trust me, you would hate being a Warlord. It looks cool on paper, but in practice they are kind of boring. I've talked to 2 other people who played one and felt the same way.
renshai:
Actually, running both should be great for you. The Warlord is the Rogue's best friend. He will get your rogue combat advantage all of the time. Good luck!

Ah. We can't do any special races, only the basics. That sounds really interesting, though.

J'ACCUSE!
i'm totally going to make a superhero named The Accuser, who's tagline is "J'accuse!"
Sounds like you're giving the original you some sort of inherent, unique, unreproducible quality beyond what's created by mere biology and chemistry. Sounds like you're talking about a soul to me.
