It's 2010. Or '10.
This year, my grandfather, oldest son of his generation, turns 82. 8+2 is 10.
On February 13, I, also oldest son of my generation, turn 28. 2+8 is 10.
My dad, oldest son of his generation, is already 55. 5+5 is 10.
However, 10 days after I turn 28, he'll turn 56.
So for 10 days in 2010, the digits of...

I just finished watching Season 1 of Carnivale, which I've had coming from Netflix over the last few months.
I'm done.
Went and took a look at some reviews, there are a lot of people saying "It's probably too dense for the average audience." Uh. No, that's about the exact opposite of my problem. Nothing happened throughout the whole first season. Spoilered below so as...

There you see, once again it is proven that you should never put your trust in stereotypes. To be honest I wouldnt be surprised if you have more snow than we have over here. Sweden is a small country supposedly covered in ice and snow, and that it is even in our minds. The concept of a "white Christmas" is so deepely embeddened in the Swedish "folk soul" that, had we been able, it would probably have been included in the Bill of Human Rights right next to the right to a payed vacation.
Interestingly enough, wherever you go, whenever you go there, you will always find us complaining about the weather. Can't live with it, can't live without it.

Looks like I am temporarily getting a cat come January. A friend is moving back in with her family temporarily now that she's back in town from college, and they don't want her to bring her new cat. So, until she can figure something else out or get her own place, I offered to take it. Her. Paddles.
Ugh. Paddles.
Anyway, never owned a cat...

I was very comforted, up until the part where you mentioned explosions.
Hehe!

legman:
that's COOL!
I got a sort-of promotion at work today. One I wasn't expecting, either.
As you can see from my profile, I do fraud investigation. When I'm done with my investigation, I write a report detailing what I found. After I've written this report, it goes through a three-step editing process (first with another investigator, then an editor, then the person who acts as direct liaison...

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I had been leaning toward the 'truncated' one as well for the same reason of the random scroll going off the side. I hadn't considered cleaning up the shortened end, so thanks for suggesting that.
Congratulations on the 'promotion'. It's surprising sometimes how much compliments and extra trust from your employer can really make your day better.

Hey Accuser, as you are the resident expert (imo) on Opeth, I wanted to ask your opinion on the Opeth logo. When it's shown as just the 'O', there is a line that goes to the right that normally underlines the 'peth'. If it's just the 'O', is it more proper to have that line fully, or cut-off short? I've seen it both ways, was curious which is right.
I'm so far behind on the podcasts I normally listen to, I don't think I've got the room for more. You know, you that number that just sits and hovers, announcing to you everyday how many unlistened to podcasts you have, trying to shame me.

hehe. I was being sarcastic. I get that quite a bit. Thank you! i take it as a compliment.
I really hate when ppl just won't say it like it is, ya know? and unfortunately, being the guy to tell it that way doesn't always mean you get to sit at the cool kids' table at lunch...so I made my own damn table. heh.

Now, are people being throw in jail over this? No, it's a fine of 25,000 (which converts to roughly 3.2 trillion American dollars).
I loved it.
