Went up to Flagstaff for Halloween. Wow. It was really nice to experience it in a town that loves the holiday. Any time I've tried to do something in the Phoenix area, I haven't found a scene that indulges as fully as this.

I was Ichabod Crane, or a time traveler, or a generic steampunk guy, or whatever else you'd like to pick. Officially, I was telling people Ichabod Crane.

I'll have pictures eventually, when friends upload them. I didn't bring my own camera. See below for photos.

My costume got a surprisingly good response. Lots of people complimented me, or wanted to know more. One girl was such a fan that she grabbed me in the middle of a club, asked to take a picture with me, kissed me, then waved bye. That was unexpected. Had another girl yell, "Steampunk! Please hug me!" All in all, a pretty dang good night.

Saw some really impressive costumes, as well. One fellow was a mad scientist, and his girlfriend was a clockwork doll. She had a giant winding key on her back. Very cool. One guy was Anubis, jackal-head and all. Saw about four other steampunks, a couple giant penises, and the Mario brothers as well. The latter had props to go with the costumes, like a question mark box, a mushroom, and piranha plant. Very cool stuff.

How was your Halloween? Do anything? What were you? See any cool costumes?

Me and my best bud, Mel. He was a drunken scotsman. As an actual drunken irishman, it was a stretch for him. Sober at this point.

Me explaining to The Dude that he can say what he likes about the tenets of national socialism, but at least it's an ethos. Plastered.

My friend Nicole, who showed us around Flagstaff, and me, sleepy towards last call. Slowly sobering.
