My jury duty service is over with. It was actually over with officially yesterday, but I've been so damn busy lately that I haven't had the time to write anything. I really didn't want to do jury duty, but once I was there, I was actuallylooking forward to watching a case and deciding someones fate. Plus, this was superior court so I would get to see the big cases.
I only had to go on Monday. I got there at 8am (have to be there by 8:30). They gave us an introduction and made us watch a movie about courtroom procedures for jurors. There were exactly 128 of us in the room and we were broken up into 16 panels of 8. I was in panel 1. They called panels 1, 2 and 3 to report to courtroom G and my panel sat in the jury box and the other panels waiting in the audience area. In the courtroom were the Judge, the court reporter, the judge's assitant, the asst DA and his client (the detective) and a lawyer with the guy who was in trouble. The case we would be a juror on if we were selected was the state versus this guys who when he was 16, he aallegedly had sex (and apparently doing everything in the book with a nine year old girl. I wasn't called and I didn't get to serve but I am curious about how this case turns out.
To all my SG friends, sorry I haven't said hey to you lately. Been busy spending all my free time car hunting. Hopefully I'll be getting a new car here in the next week or 2.

damn it! i want to serve on a jury, i'd be a fantastic juror.
Of course I've only been alowed to vote for 5 years now.
I could tell a really tasteless joke here but in light of the circumstances I think I'll just not and say I didn't.
