Jesus H. Christ... I'm on the phone with my mother who is really "pissed off" about her birthday lunch yesterday afternoon with the family. It seems that she is angered that at the age of 68, she shouldn't have to go through the "bullshit" and "drama" that we (her kids) seem to cause at family events - like birthday lunches and who pays for it!!!!...

My dad wants to pay for EVERYthing. Mind you both my parents are retired and while they've got a decent income prices aren't coming down and their income isn't going up.
His birthday was last week and I took my son down for lunch - my bro and I were gonna pay for it but my dad said "No, I'll do it" and my brother - who HAD THE BILL IN HIS HAND - just folded and handed it to him.
AHHHH!!!!!
Anyway - tell your mom it's everywhere. It probably won't help but who knows.
