Jesus H. Christ... I'm on the phone with my mother who is really "pissed off" about her birthday lunch yesterday afternoon with the family. It seems that she is angered that at the age of 68, she shouldn't have to go through the "bullshit" and "drama" that we (her kids) seem to cause at family events - like birthday lunches and who pays for it!!!!

Fuck..! I mean, everytime we all go out to eat there seems to be a "lull" when the bill comes. Now when it's mom's or dad's B-Day, don't you that the kids should pay for it?? confused eeek There shouldn't be PANIC or CONFUSION about coming out of the pocket to pay for it, right? Nor should dad have to pay it.. Just because he wants to..!

Well, all that shit happenned yesterday, but I didn't find out about it until just now! Now, I paid for mine - and my dad just decided to pay for everybody elses.. I just got off the phone with my "venting" and "disappointed" mother who was letting me know that we (her children) should have made prior arrangements to take care of her bill and NOT allow dad to slap it on his VISA card eeek eeek .

So after about 32 minutes of listening I just told her that I was sorry she felt hurt and that if I was the cause of any of it - that I was sorry frown Now she's going to call and harrass the other (3) children and chew on their asses...... wink

You'd just figure that a family that lives no more than 7 miles apart (at the farthest) would be able to communicate better......... blackeyed

That's sorta funny in an "I've been there to F'n many times" way.

My dad wants to pay for EVERYthing. Mind you both my parents are retired and while they've got a decent income prices aren't coming down and their income isn't going up.

His birthday was last week and I took my son down for lunch - my bro and I were gonna pay for it but my dad said "No, I'll do it" and my brother - who HAD THE BILL IN HIS HAND - just folded and handed it to him.

AHHHH!!!!!

Anyway - tell your mom it's everywhere. It probably won't help but who knows.
