She licks and licks and licks
Paws must remain clean
Claws, maintained
And the chocolate
So deeply ingrained
With the butter
And the other things
The same

Alone but not lonesome
Different but not changed
Stripes you might see
Or the flash of her maw
And then you are gone
Chewy,
Gooey,
Goodness.

Little Black Sambo
Never stood a chance
Nor Mowgli
Not a one!
But myths do endure
And the human soul soars
It simply cannot comprehend

Caught in denial
The start for some
Those few who smile
For a lotus raised

Civilization razed
