I'm back from Portland !
(this is gonna be a long entry - scroll down to read about some unusual developments with my fluffy companions)
I have to say that the weather here is exactly like it was there, so I feel like I'm stuck in a really uncool part of the sity rather than actually being back home.
highlights of my fabulous trip !
-I got to meet venice and some of her friends! they were really easy to talk to and made me feel like I could be myself. we ate insanely orgasmic chocolate desserts and they even have tapioca-bubble tea in Portland ! yay !
-I found myself way over my head in the classes I sat in on - but this is still a highlight because it made me enthusiastic to get educated again, and also reminded me how much highschool (and jr. high) sucked. I'm really exited to be challenged next year, even tho I know it's gonna kick my ass.
-Every one in Portland was superfriendly! I kept meeting people on Tri Met. Directions were asked for and asked of me. It was cool.
-I got to meet the lovely Scylla, if only in brief.
-I wandered Portland and the college campus for hours, and practiced learning my way around (this included getting lost in the library and sneaking around the art department).
hooray !!
I had lots of time to kill/think and I'm really glad I took this trip. Even though i didn't get to meet as many PDXers as i had hoped, venice and her friends were so nice I feel like I'm gonna be okay next fall, not lost and alone in a 'flock of freshmen.'
I'm really exited.
and finding upon my return:
-this lady rescued an escaped lovebird from a cat, and since she saw the ad in the paper my mom put in to sell our baby lovebirds, she called and asked if we could keep the little guy. (The lady turned out to be our dental hygenist, small world, enit?) So we're nursing it back to health, poor thing.
-I got the day off work, hooray!
-Okay, remember how my friends and I bought this little hamster from Petco, the one the other hamsters were, um, raping? Well, the reason the other hamsters in the cage marked 'male hamsters' were 'raping' him is because he is a girl !!!!!!!!. And how do I know this? because he just had babies !!!!!!!!!!! now I guess 
Vlad the Impaler is more like, 
Vladina the Impregnated.
stupid Petco people. Still, the miracle of life rocks!
Now I'm off to eat the rest of my Thai food from yesterday. Yum!
