"alive yet unaware asking do you really care
Nivek, rehgard with care witness our philosophy"
At last! Skinny Puppy tonight! I haven't seen them live in, well, 15 years, on their VIVISect VI tour. I know I won't be disappointed. Oddly enough that was the first time I saw or heard Nine Inch Nails - who happened to open for them. It was at City Gardens in Trenton, NJ. A fairly small club, fitting maybe a couple hundred people at best. I remember Trent Reznor walking back and forth through the crowd to get to the stage and was largely ignored by everybody in attendance. NIN wasn't bad, just not anywhere near the top of their game as Skinny Puppy. Trent and crew were good, but SP was unbelievable. The stage was loaded with all sorts of operating room type apparatuses. All incorporated into the show, along with buckets of fake blood, and various other instruments of dissection. There was a point in the show, where Cevin Key, already covered in blood, takes a large shard of a mirror and runs it across his chest. More blood poored out and down his torso. It was at this point that the guy next to me was became completely frozen in shock. Dumbfounded, or tripping and out of his mind. He was so unresponsive that his friends actually tilted him back and dragged him out of the crowd.
Tweaker is opening tonight (Chris Vrenna, formerly of NIN). I know nothing about them aside from that fact. Although I found this article,
and it mentions that their first album was inspired by a painting from Joe Sorren, who just happens to be one of my favorite artists:
"As soon as I first saw the painting that would became the cover of the album, that triggered everything," Vrenna said. "I was at a gallery and I was there to see a different show. 'Elliot' was in the back room. I was immediately drawn to it. It's three feet by three feet ... pretty much sized to be an album cover. I thought, 'There's my guy.' "
Damn. I got a lot of crap to do before the show - car to the shop, haircut, etc. etc. I add more later tonight after the show.

Car cost $700!!! Yikes...there's a kick in the nuts. I did get my haircut today at good ol' Rudy's. An odd thing though, this was the first time that I've ever had anyone trim my eyebrows before
I obviously must have needed it. Believe me, I've noticed the mutant hairs trying to stake a claim to the territory just above my peepers too, it was just that she did it so non-chalantly.
ugh...

Thanks for the comment homey, I'm gonna miss your inspiration. I might just get an anon account. Mostly to keep track of cool shit, like the things you post. Eh, we'll see. I might come back later, who knows.
