I probably shoulda slept in longer this morning, seeing how it's Saturday and all, but oh well. It's just too sunny and bright in my bedroom to sleep. Coffee, a blueberry muffin, and long walk with the pooch to get the day started. I've got a big day ahead of me: Hops on Equinox Beerfest, NCAA Tourney, maybe catch some live music later - weekends are great! - I probably should apologize in advance for any idiotic drunken posts that might appear as a result of today's festivities.

The dog is giving me the "I need to shit!" stare, so I better go. Hope you all have a great weekend!

[back from walk] I took a nice long walk over Capitol Hill here in Seattle. Basically on this side of the Hill, mansions and tree lined streets are the norm. I followed a path through Volunteer Park and over past the Grand Army Cemetary and Lakeview - where, incidently, Bruce Lee was laid to rest, as well as Princess Angeline, daughter of Seattle's namesake, Chief Sealth.

An interesting fact I learned from the Lakeview article linked above: "(1878)...while Leigh Hunt, editor and publisher of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, was trailblazing along the ridge of what would be called Capitol Hill, he, by his own description, “fell into a deep communion with nature and under the enchanted spell of her visible forms.” Under the influence of this reverie, Hunt next came across the few marked graves at Washelli. Perhaps dreaming of good copy, the editor claimed that a voice came to him demanding “Dispose of the dead elsewhere; this ground is reserved for the enjoyment of the living.”" - and the City did!

The sun was out, and many flowers and trees are in full bloom and the air has that crisp sweet scent of spring. I walked past the cemetaries, with the pooch eagerly pulling me along, and ended up at Louisa Boren Park. More of a lookout, than a park. On a day like today the view is simply fanstastic! The Cascade Mountains and Mt. Baker were plain as day as they streched across the horizon beyond Lake Washington(the link has a virtual cam of the view - doesn't do it justice though). On a day like today I really feel lucky to live where I do. Everything, the mountains, lakes, or the city, are all right there. I love Seattle.

*hat tip to antenna* for inspiring me to look up a little history of my own.

Wow! You might know it, but I had forgotten about this site and recently rediscovered it: kozyndan! LA based artistic couple - the panoramics are fantastic!

Do you do artwork as well as design? Or does that just go hand in hand?
