So I haven't said anything in like 2 months. Fancy that... Anyway, for a bit of an update:

I got the job at Google through Workforce Logic. I commute to and from The Dalles every weekday. From Vancouver. Yeah. I thought I might have something going on with this awesome girl named Melissa, but after 3 times hanging out, each time ranging from 4-12 hours, she just sort of disappeared for a few weeks and now if I mention that I'd like to hang out or visit with her she just says, "Yeah, that'd be cool" or something like that and then that's the end of it. Yay for run on sentences. I turned 23. That was cool, I guess, except that i had an awful canker sore on my jawbone for it. Oh, I also moved out about a month ago. Now I'm living with my cousin Jon and his best friend Justin. It's nice. I also swore off alcohol until Kelly's party. I needed a break. Also, Scott moved to Seattle for UW. Boo.

More fun news: my job starts with a 6 month contract (err, 2x3 month contracts), with the possibility of being hired on full-time after that. My managers really like me and want to hire me, but the hiring committee in Mountain View decided that HWOPS (Hardware Operations, the department I work in) is big enough already so they instituted a hiring freeze. That means one of 3 things could happen in the next 8 weeks. 1: I could squeeze through and actually get hired at the end of my contract (likelihood: low). 2: They could extend my contract another 3 months and hope to hire me on during that time (likelihood: it's happened before, it could happen to me. 3: My contract ends and I am out of a job (likelihood: what I was told to expect). On the plus side, I have a few thousand saved up in the bank and will be able to collect unemployment if I am indeed laid off. So if step 3 comes to pass, I get to decide if I want to get a job for the next 3 months while I wait to reapply, just sit on my butt collecting unemployment for 3 months or find a job that doesn't include the 20 hour weekly commute. But I like my coworkers... and hate the drive and waking up at 5:30.

So much more to say, so little time. gah.
