Wondering how y'all feel about cooks. Are we relationship material? Just being in the industry for so long you see the downsides to becoming involved with someone in the service industry. Our hours are long, schedules often change, we usually don't get holidays off. And so many cooks are afflicted with bad habits, smoking, drinking, gluttony, drugs, a rock 'n roll lifestyle without any of the glory. Many are rough around the edges, come from a difficult or complicated past. But we have one thing in common, we care about good food, and we love where art and science meet...the magic of cooking. Broiler, sauté, frying, boiling, soups and sauces, basic food prep -- there's a natural appetite for improving, and a passion that comes with all types off cooking. I truly appreciate all the kitchen warriors. Cheers to both BoH and FoH!
