both my parents were teachers and they would send us out to run around outside instead- we could watch the cosby show, mickey mouse and donald duck, sesame street, mr. rodgers, and the discovery channel back when it was only animal and histrical programming. but when i was very small there was only cbs and nbc and then as a teen the other stuff. we were also allowed to watch jeopardy, wheel of fortune, 25000 pyramid and brain teasers on hbo... that shoudl explain it...
