American and Terror - A look into what America has become.
Before 9/11, few people in America feared a terrorist attack. After 9/11, everyone feared a terrorist attack. After 9/11, our country's Administration became the terrorists. They constantly told us we were to be afraid of what the terrorists would do to us. Constantly lifting the color-coded terror alerts to make us believe that we...

Interesting reading lately. Lots of little bits of information that set my mind on fire.
Here's a bit that I think everyone should read. I'm sure that it will bother some people, but its not meant to say "Bush is Hitler", but rather, its meant to tell us that we need to watch closely what we do as a nation. It only takes a spark,...

Ah, there was much drinking and rejoicing last night! Rejoicing came after drinking, so I'm not really certain if there was any particular reason for such rejoicing. Alas, it did not matter, spirits were high, and so were our glasses!
Jim and I have such a good time living together. We are both pretty damn good for each other. The house is always clean ......

So last night I got a piece of mail from a friend of mine, that I grew up with in Nebraska. It was a paper entitled, "How Can a Good God Allow Evil?"
First I must note that I came from an uber-conservative christian family, which isn't all that rare in Nebraska. Most of my friends from back home are christians. They are often upset...

Today I get to spend my time dealing with pretense. Lots of rich people with nothing better to do than chat about the "Global Market" and how it effect the Biotechnology world. Most of the people there are going to be there for networking purposes only. Which means I have to deal with lots of people who only care about how much they can gain...

A few things....
Current politics upset me immensely. However, I have become resigned to the fact that I get violently worked up about them and now I prefer pretending I'm from another country.
Obviously the customer service representative was not representing Verizon. I hate Verizon. I should also own Verizon by now, too.
Maria Callas is good though for all that she is continuously lauded as the "voice of the century" there are much more enjoyable dramatic coloratura sopranos. I suggest you add Joan Sutherland to your eclectic play list.

Ah, what a glorious weekend! Can it get any nicer out? Nope! Will it get warmer and nearly unbearable soon? Yep! Will All my dress shirts be nicely fitted with pit stains in the next month ... let's hope not. Wow, how uncouth of me.
So life is generally going well lately. I haven't had a depression episode lately because my intake of politics is...

Im renovating my new apartment that I bought so that its two bedrooms instead of just one, and Im playing Carmen in Carmen. (Nice, eh?)
So last night I went to see a musical written by my friend Peter. Now, considering the high opinion of myself that I like to carry around, I have to say that Peter is one of the most talented musicians I have the pleasure of knowing. Its one thing to be talented, its another to be perfect, but then its a whole other issue with...

The weekend was very good to me. I've gathered control of myself again. My OCD was finally satisfied yesterday when I spent about 6 hours rewiring my whole entertainment system. Ever since Jim moved into my house, several more electronics have been added to the living room. And in the past week there were more cords/wires lying around the living room than safety would prefer....

I'm feeling loads better compared to Sunday, but I'm not perfect yet.
I have an odd feeling of depression today. I was discussing my life growing up last night and my relationship with religion/church. Due to a mutual friend, I held back my honest responses to what she was saying, and was annoyed...

Im studying at one of the conservatories here after transferring out of a completely different major (ethnolinguistics/ethnomathematics). Bartender and paralegal, eh? Ive always maintained that if this whole opera bit doesnt work out, Id run away to Italy to tend bar and generally run amuk.
merrow:
heh heh, in that case, I go to the infamous other conservatory. Opera singers and classical musicians are generally pretty insane, so I can only imagine the horrors of having such room mates.
