So I finally got to see Wedding Crashers last night. What a brilliant movie. It never ceases to amaze me how funny those guys are. And what a great spot Will Ferrell did. He is a wonderful big goof. I will say nothing more for those who have not seen it.
I had a solidly great weekend. Good time, good people, drinking and music. Sadly, none of the musicians were strong enough players to actually "jam" during what was supposedly called a "Jam-session". Their apparent idea of jamming was to play covers of songs ... what an abhorrent bunch of jackasses. At least I had fun, and got to show off a little bit, which is the only thing of real importance ... or not.
Going over to my friend Peter's place next week. I'm excited, it should be a superb jam session of fun. I hope he gets out his accordian, that is a great instrument to listen to, especially when the player is really talented. I just can't explain well enough, the kind of respect I have for Peter.
Now to just comment on Bush. Great recess appointment you power glutton. If we didn't create enough international bad blood yet, I guess now's the time. Checks and balances ... no more in the United States. This is called dictatorship. Luckily we have enough laws in place that we are able to keep him from absorbing too much power. All I want is for the United States as a whole to become friendly amongst each other. America hates the other half of America that doesn't agree with them, calling them communists and terrorists, murderers and chickenhawks. Name calling only causes the divide to grow. If they would take a look for a moment, they would see that they are turning us into the Middle East. The leaders there use the same tactics which have resulted in genocide, terrorism, civil wars and basically constant destruction and death.
And what about the defense spending bill. A threat of a veto, and putting it off till the Fall, all because some of our politicians wanted to put in text regarding our abuse of prisoners, and limitating it. Apparently, beating and degrading someone until they give you information is acceptable. Just like when Saddam did it ... oh, whoops, excuse me if I heard that justification for the War in Iraq. I'm just sick of this. How many more years is he our president?
Oh yes, and love is in the air. I love ice cream. I got the hugest friggin ice cream cone ever, ate it all, then had to stop moving for fear of internal explosion for eating what felt like a gallon of ice cream. Jeepers!
And so ends my discussion today. Come back next issue for jaw-dropping silence of the issues of the U.S. Govt.
