July is turning into a grand month in politics. The curruption is showing through, Bush is defying Congress, our army is showing its weakness. This administration is finally showing Americans what their votes cost them. Once a strong nation, now divided, weakened, and every check and balance fighting to be in control. Democracy? Hardly.
I wish people in the U.S. would take up the talking point about how America isn't a democracy anymore. Perhaps I'm just a stinking liberal, but I'll back this up a bit.
With our two party system, one party is generally in power, and with the distance in beliefs between the two, one subjects their way of life onto the other. We don't try to live in harmony with each other, leaving everyone free to do, or believe in whatever they want. We look at the Iraq, where there's one major party, and several small parties. They are allowing the insugents to live in their cities until they are given better representation. Basically, in any country, where one party is also associated with a denomination of religion, it causes the govt. to fail as a democracy. Religion is essentially evil. I wish I could say that I am amazed, but growing up in a extremely right-wing family and raised in the church, I've seen this in more than just govt. I've so far ignored two calls from an old friend because I know that at this point in time, if I speak with her, I'm only going to end up hating her. Out of her hate, which she doesn't realize is hate, or her desire to subject others to the lifestyle she chooses, I just can't stand to talk to her. I will eventually call her, but I need to work up the mindset to avoid any possible political talking points, or beliefs, which will be damn near impossible because I'm an confrontational asshole who has little else to talk about except politics. Yes, I'm a boring, stubborn, confrontational asshole. And I wonder why people don't invite me to parties .... HA
With all that our govt. has become, all I really want to do is go home and watch Team America. It makes everything I hate seem funny. Seem? No no no, it is funny as hell!
"Freedom isn't free, it costs a heafty fuckin' fee!"
So I'm writing a vocal line to Jim's band's song. Its pretty damn hard. Since I've never listened to his type of music before, its causing the process to be super slow, but it also means that it wont' sound like the rest of the vocal lines in that world of music ... I hope. That's why I'm not taking in a lot of that music, I want to be a virgin in creating this sound. The next verse is going to take forever ... I've got an idea that I'm not sure I can a) write; b) perform; and c) finish it without going crazy. But damnit, I'll try.
On that note, I'm off to draft a motion! Law sucks!
