Alright, it is time to vent a bit.

Terri Schiavo - I have heard that damn name too much. I have a real problem with the fact that our government has had so much time to fight over that issue. Including a bill passed by congress and signed by the president. Over the past several years, our "conservative" party has taken a position that is an absolute opposite of conservative. Is it conservative of our govt. to get involved in a family dispute, which is what this was, or are they way out of line.

Tom DeLay: ''[We] will look at an arrogant and out-of-control judiciary that thumbs its nose at Congress and the president.''

Excuse me? How dare you make a statement like that DeLay. The Courts are out of control? What about the recent report that basically said all our intelligence on Iraq was crap? What about the Patriot Act. We intend to secure personal freedoms while at the same time taking them away. Fuck America! We are a lazy, arrogant and cruel people.

Even now, there is still an ongoing fight about Terri. Do the people realize that she is dead, or is it just the American way to fight because we are so god damned stubborn. The woman was braindead. She had been like this for how many years now? Personally, I think keeping her alive that long was cruel. Perhaps it is just my pessimism that makes me say this, but why give hope to someone when there is no hope to be had. There was no actual question as to whether she was brain dead. Reactions? If you cut a cow's throat, even after it is dead it'll still kick and flop. The body can still react, but that doesn't mean the
person is alive. There are so many things we should be concerned with in our current world climate, yet somehow someone who cann't comprehend their rights are having them shoved down her throat. That is just cruel in my mind.

Also, if it is that big of a deal to someone that they stay alive, then make yourself a living will. By not doing that, you are subjecting yourself to the whims of whatever idiot thinks they are protecting your rights. And I'm sorry, but you get fanatics, and I'm so fucking sick of fanatics.

Another thing ... if you saw where the protesters were positioned, and then if you looked at that position after Terri died, you'll notice that those fucktards didn't even have the care of decency to clean up their mess. Signs, trash, burnt candles were everywhere. If you are so concerned with someones rights, then perhaps you should look at the rest of the ideals our country was founded on. To be an American is not only about rights, but it is also about responsibilities, and privledges. If you demand your rights, or someone elses rights, you had better hold up your end.

End of rant.

Everything in life is awesome, except for the moments when I subject myself to the news. I actually met a really beautiful girl last night who I think I may be inclined to persue. She had me hooked the moment she said that a 6 hour word day was a lot to ask of her. Yes, she is that good that 6 hours is all she actually needs to do. I'm looking forward to the chase!

Also, I haven't needed sleep lately. Its really weird, I've only been sleeping about 3 hours a night lately and yet it hasn't effected me. I'm worried I have a tumor or something that is making me weird ... or something. Naw, no tumor, I'm just a happy person, and happy people don't need to sleep as much ... or something.

Auditioning for the musical on Sunday, doing the 48 hour film festival next weekend, and building myself a new computer over the weekend. Yeah! Exciting, no?

May your weekends be wonderful, as mine I can assure you will be!

The Terry Schiavo situation is a tricky one. I'm all for a person having the right to decide how and when they want to die, but the fact that Terry didn't have a living will that spelled out what she wanted...how can we know. I'm not a parent, but I can understand how a parent would want to keep their child alive even when there is very little hope of recovery.
We are a culture obsessed with death. I've been watching the news today (it's pretty much all I watch) and they keep a camera on the lights in the Pope's apartment. Everyone is waiting for the light to go out so they can get to the grieving. We love it. Nothing makes us feel more alive than when we can come together to reflect on someone else's death.
I wish we would be more blatantly celebratory. Why be sad. It's obvious life is too short.
