A fabulous weekend, to say the very very least. And now to say the most ....
Friday night, I had to work at the bar, but being me, I had such a good time. I met these southerners, and I just love folks from the south. For some reason, when I am at work, I suddenly become witty and overt, but rarely in my personal life/time. So needless to say, I entertained the hell out of those people. And I also understand them a lot better than most people around Boston, cause I am a midwest kid, and I still have a lot of hick rolling around inside me. God did I have fun, and god damn did I leave work fucked up. Hurrah for sipping Belvedere vodka all night long ... sipping, yeah.
Moving on to Saturday. Saturday started out playing pool in this deserted pool hall. The guy running the place was an old local, who has stories to go on and on and on about. While I was playing pool with my friend, the music was all 50's do-wop. It was just wonderful. After we finished playing, I sat around with the guy and chatted up on the issue of music. He was apparently, back in the day, a man who followed jazz really really closely. When I say closely, the man met all sorts of greats, like sitting with Miles Davis. He just had some great stories.
After pool, my friend and myself went to Seatopia for some sushi. Yum yum yum. Then it was back to the house to make a cloud of happy goodness for me to relax in. Later that night, I went out with a friend to a party in Somerville. Well, we played some drinking games, more smoking, and then chatting. Had a lot of fun, met a lot of cool chill people. It was very nice.
Yesterday ... oh yesterday. Well, all yesterday consisted of was friends, beer, meat, pot, and a smoker. We smoked sausage and babyback ribs. They were so friggin good, I can't wait to have my dinner of leftovers tonight. So amazingly good. Next week we are going to smoke trout, pork chops, pork tenderloin for pulled pork. And we may try to cold smoke some salmon, although I don't know if we are good enough for that yet, we shall see what we can rig up.
Yes, so my weekend was just utterly perfect. And my Monday has started slowly, but is starting to pick up. That is, as all the toxins are cleared from my body, the better I feel. But hot damn, the weekend was fun.
Keep your stick on the ice, eh?
