I find that lately, I am looking too deeply into things, and it has begun to effect my life in odd ways. The honesty that I allow myself is somewhat frustrating, and I am beginning to realize how much I don't like the people I know. Don't misunderstand me, I have several friends who are more dear to my than my life itself, but many of the other people I am friends with are worthless meat-bags.
The thing about some of these people is that they are brilliant. But they still seem to have no grasp of the world itself. I doubt some of these people understand the use hindsight can be. "Why do I still hang out with them?" I suppose the conversation intrigues me, and I am able to use them for their connections (like going to the Harvard Club to sample their different whiskeys and such), but mostly the conversation. The best way to learn about society, is to discuss it with the lowest form of civil society. "The worst example of a culture is also the most defining." It hurts me to understand where society is going, and to understand that they actually don't understand. The United States cannot function as a democracy.
It used to be, people would fight for their right to vote. They fought so they could change the way the country worked, so they could have a say. Nowdays, most people have no clue what or who they are voting for. "If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all." The same goes for voting, if you have no clue what you are voting for, don't vote! The concept of voting for you party, just because it is your party can't be smart. Oh well, I have just become disappointed with the standards, or lack thereof, that this country has now.
On happier notes, I'm building a smoker on my back porch this weekend, smoked meats and smoked up Aaron ... good times. Last night I smoked from the 4 foot hooka again ... damn that was nice.
Tonight I am going to a brewery to drink till I want to puke ... or just drink and drink and drink and not puke cause I can hold my own ... perhaps. Picked up a new bag last night, and it smells really nice, can't wait to dive in. Not much happening in my life, just weddings and summer fun. Recording starts soon, so I'll post links to newly recorded music once we start up. It should be a dandy time. Cheers!
