So life ... it is pretty great. Last month I had the first gig with the band. It went really well and we packed the place pretty nicely. Useful Idiot I love singing Tool. I've been setting up my vocal processor lately to mimic Maynard's vocal effects. That bastard adds so much shit to his voice, it's fucking madness. It is fun though, and my vocal processor is badass. Every musician that gets to hear me playing with it (or play with it themselves), falls in love with the thing. It can do almost everything my heart desires. I'm still attempting to learn how to make it do some of the things it is capable of doing, but that's the problem with it doing so much, it's freaking hard!

I've not been doing drugs as much anymore. This is primarily due to the fact that my girlfriend and I are getting much closer, and being that she has a young daughter, I want to be sure she isn't exposed to these things. If she were to be exposed, I'd be the best to expose her to it, but I'm certain her mother wouldn't appreciate that. It's almost sad that my shamanic knowledge of drugs is going into hibernation, but I've been passing on some important rituals and information to those I believe are wise enough to handle the information safely.

So for Christmas I'll be smoking a ham. I've decided I'm going to brine it for a week, then put a rub on it, smoke it for about 12-16 hours, then put a glaze on it, and smoke it for maybe a half hour to an hour more. It shall be delicious. I wish I had gotten to brewing the licorice beer this past weekend, because then it would have been ready for Christmas. Oh well. I've also been doing research on making a butterscotch beer. I've read lots of interesting ideas on the subject, but none seem to get exactly what I want. Should be interesting to see what I actually come up with.

I've little else to say at the moment. The holiday is upon us, and I'm not ready for it. I prefer giving gifts without reason. I hate Christmas because it brings about expectation. I get people gifts when I find something I think they'll like. That's the simple and effective way to buy gifts, and an unexpected gift is better than an expected gift that leaves the receiver less than overjoyed. Maybe I'm just being a complaining asshole. Oh well, it's the holidays, it's tradition to complain.

Merry Christmas!

Welcome back.

I am the same about gifts. I'd rather give something thoughtful and random than buy something generic because it's xmas. That and I like to make gifts and it's hard to make loads of things at once.

cheers
