Perhaps the most important attribute I look for in a person is a desire for knowledge. The more I attempt to discuss different subjects with people, the more I realize I'm disappointed with their failure to learn on their own. I refer to this as a willfull ignorance. Mainly this stems from discussions relating to politics.

When you give someone a pure example of truth v. lie, and yet they fail to believe you, yet refuse to look into it for themselves, I have nothing but contempt for that person. My mom is visiting next week, and although she means well, I can't help but despise her desire to stay ignorant. The last few times I've seen her, I've told her almost that much, although I've left the despise word from my statements because I still do love her.

Politics are a huge part of my life. As such, I'm very invested in the common good, if that's even applicable these days anymore. The common good is so warped now that people can justify anything as long as its "for the good". They refuse to believe that their "good" cause can be corrupted, except by those who disagree with them. That's the sick part, to disagree is to be the outside devil. No matter what may happen inside what ever program or quest they may have, the only error is outside of their power. I makes me think of the Crusades. Holy wars. They have been set forth by god, therefore, how can there be any wrong? Fools.

Onto better subjects. I'm currently in a clean-out phase. I'm taking a week (and then perhaps more to follow) off of all substances. I'm curious to see what kindof clarity may arise from my sobriety, and I'm looking forward to see if my personality changes at all with it, although I hope it doesn't, as I've never been happier about my life than I am now.

Blah, not much to say as I've been a simple person as of late. Walked to work (government center) from home today (Allston). Felt great, I'm feeling energized and ready to go. Have yourselves a grand and wonderful day. And heres to hoping for a flake or two of snow!
