So life is good. I worked at the bar on Saturday night, and besides making an assload of cash (more than I've made there in a night in over 2 years I'd say), my boss up and gives me some wine that he purchased from some bars/restaurants that were going out of business. Now I had picked out these bottles when I saw them because I didn't think our patrons needed to enjoy such pleasures. Plus, he was going to sell them at such a cheap price, I told him I'd buy them. Well, at the end of the night, I was going to be paying $40 for three half-bottles of Michelle Chiarlo 1992 Barolo, and two bottles of Oberto 1994 Barolo. So far I've drank the Michelle Chiarlo with my friend Jim. The flavor was exquisite. It actually tasted like someone juiced a steak into my wine. It had these amazing flavors that just tickled the senses. I still can't believe I was given those five bottles for free. It was almost like winning the lottery (because in my personal opinion, if I had to guess, I'd value those 5 bottles somewhere around $300 or so at retail cost). C'est magnifique.

Then Sunday was also my sister's birthday, and she had just gotten back from St. Martin. She brought me a present which I entirely loved. Absinthe. It was real absinthe too. I had two sots of it, and that was plenty. I felt drunk for about an hour or two, but then only the thujone (sp?) effect was left, but it lasted for the entire day and night, along with vivid colors that made the outside world rather vibrant.

Met a girl while I was working, but I was busy, so I didn't really get to meet her. Sadly, because she turned out to be rather stupid. That was a waste of time. Where are intelligent women who don't find it necessary to live in a constant state of drama. I love the theatre, but never the drama. I didn't even make an effort for a one-nighter. I just don't have the desire to deal with a woman in whom I have no interest. Yet I'm also the one who believes I am a person too self-interested to be able to have a good relationship with a woman. Can't wait till I find a girl that I like more than myself.

This weekend I am planning to be quite happy. Thursday is my birthday, and Friday will begin the celebration, and Sunday will be required for sleeping off all the joy.
