I've been having a very interesting time discussing the new SCOTUS nominee, and I've actually found a few people who understand what is involved in being a judge, and what would disqualify someone from becoming a member of the SCOTUS. Without understanding what all is involved, most people aren't in a position to pass judgment on these individuals ability to perform their task. Needless to say, this has brought many discussions on Alito to a grinding halt. The argument that he OK'd the strip search of a 10 year old girl and her mother, who's names weren't listed on the search warrant, when the search warrant was for someone else, while technically true, the affidavit that went with the application for a search warrant did list them as individuals to be searched as well. This comes down to a question of, a technical legal question, and in this instance, the Judge made the correct decision, even if it sounds deplorable. And frankly, research the man as far as a right to privacy is concerned, you might be fairly surprised.
Not much else I'd like to say today, just been doing lots of thinking on current political issues and events. Lots mulling through my mind, but none which I feel anyone wants to read lengthy thought on, which in my case is the only way it comes it seems.
