so i was slightly disappointed with the douglas coupland lecture.
and i dont know why.
maybe my expectations we're slightly above what they should have been.
i mean - i did see him last year.
i guess the other thing too was that the venue was like 100x bigger than the last time i saw him.
it didnt feel as intimate. it didnt feel connected.
tonight he only spoke for an hour and last time he spoke for almost 2 hr.
he was still hilarious and i still had a great time.
i only got a couple pictures and never got my book signed.
all i really wanted was a picture of me with him.
and alas, the lineup was so f'ing long ... i just couldn't be bothered waiting.
disappointing to say the least.
so many indie, emo, hipster types there.
i think i saw a couple people from my school there.
however noone i'm friends with - just people i've had in my gned classes.
douglas coupland talked about the wonders of perscription medication and how he was so doped up on meds. lol
he kept saying all these random yet hilariously coupland-esque things.
and read a passage from his yet to be released novel "j-pod" ... a followup to his previous novel "microserfs"
altho i wasnt totally impressed - i was still happy to see him.
a nice way to spend the night.
