I feel like balls dipped in shit, which is to say, not good. But I shall over come. I am wearing my favorite fat green socks and there is nothing you can do about it.
I am a pirate captain. My badassitude is unrivaled. Here me speak:
Strike up the mizzensail -- smartly me beauties -- lest I clep ye for bilge rats... Read More
There it sits ... smug in its finery ... mocking me.
How much longer?
How much longer can I resist ripping into it, tearing apart its insides and letting its gooey contents run through my cruel fingers?
It is my daughter's pumpkin-hued candy bucket.
I must not eat it. It is not for me.
Maybe just one piece ...
Historically speaking, I am somewhat of a luddite, like some geek-like creature lacking the technical skills stereotypically associated with geeks. For example, I can't figure out how to make photos smaller than 100 mbs so I can put them on my profile. But that's one small example ...
I am mistrustful of technology. I think we tend to become excessively dependent on it, and in... Read More
The way I shrink images from my digital camera to put them in my profile is through the program you probably have on your computer already: MS Paint. If you click on Image (at the top), then Stretch/Skew, I've found that reducing it to 20% of its original size is a good size for the Pics folder. RAMH: I saw your take on the word on your journal shortly after I wrote mine, and your view was enlightening. You chose to celebrate the second definition, basically putting into practice what I was saying about "not giving a damn about society's perceptions."
Maybe I betrayed my own social programming by interpreting definition 2 as automatically negative?
For me the word became a springboard for larger issues that weigh on my mind, my anxieties about raising two girls with no positive female role model.
I also, generally speaking, tend to be pessimistic about human beings, life, the universe and everything.
Personally, I'm a sore bloodied fist with swollen knuckles.
While I stand by my musings about our culture at large, I could be willing to give "virago" another chance.
As of this writing, I have not yet completed the erotic poem about the caged hamsters. I hope to finish it this evening, but to be true, I am quite tired. My girls brought some friends over tonight for dinner and pumpkin carvings. It was glorious good fun, but exhausting. I made pudding and pasta with homemade sauce.
Only now have I completed... Read More
