I told the Aquabeast, "With the brown bunny gone, you will be on the recieving end of most of my attention while I am here. You realize this."

The Aquabeast's eyes grew wide with shock, "Oh my God," she managed to utter.

My good chum and sidekick got a new job and today was his last day. Our jobs are miserable, and we all grew very tight. I shall miss him, but we will still dangle from time to time. (Why say "hang out" when you can say "dangle?")

Of our mighty crew of Swashbuckling Pirate Chums, only the the Aquabeast and I, The Captain, remain.

We all have nicknames. We do not choose our own nicknames; they are assigned to us by fellow scallywag chums.

I am utterly exhausted. It was a stressful week. Lots of work. Kids are home. I am happy to see them, very glad indeed. I made grilled cheese for them today. They are watching The Cheetah Girls movie. I am going to make tea and after they go to bed fall asleep watching either "Heathers" or some John Hughes' fare. Because I am in that kind of mood. I just want to be comfortable for a little while.

The girls' return, certainly a blessing and a joy, led to inevitable wrangling with their mother. She refused to resume her visitation until next Tuesday evening. I can't fathom that. They were in Arizona for five weeks; you would think she would WANT to see them. But the less time they spend with her, the better, but it leads me into babysitting difficulties. She was also being combative about paying her half of the daycare fees. She has no appreciation for the fact that I am raising these two children by myself and supporting them, and feels outraged that she has to contribute a mere $135 a month. Sorry for the rant, but it pisses me off.

Oh well, they are home, and I am happy. They each have a doughnut.

I am leaning towards "Heathers."

I am going to do the dishes now. Then movie, and then sleep. Good night, my friends. Be well. IM chums ... I'll be back on soon, my carpal tunnel's been flaring up a bit lately. I miss you, and you are in my thoughts.

PS: My birthday turned out to be really nice. I didn't expect it to be. I had no plans, but my girlfriend's parents took us out to dinner the night before and gave me a generous gift card for an area store. That is good becuase my clothes are falling apart and I need some stuff to wear for work. I blew my wad on back to school stuff for the girls.
On my actual birthday my girlfriend and my Chum-who-just-got-a-new-job went to Chinatown and got food and bubbletea and went into the crazy bakeries and shops. We found some weird out of the way places last time we went. My wrists hurt too much for me to say a lot more. I will do a Chinatown journal later. The Girl, to whom I may propose in the spring if I can scrape up enough for a ring, painted a beautiful painting of a rose for me. I took down the painting I had of a beaten down naked man being tomented by a storm and hung my honey's painting in its place, above my bed, beneath the arrow I had blessed by a Ute shaman.

I am out like trout.
