As of this writing, I have not yet completed the erotic poem about the caged hamsters. I hope to finish it this evening, but to be true, I am quite tired. My girls brought some friends over tonight for dinner and pumpkin carvings. It was glorious good fun, but exhausting. I made pudding and pasta with homemade sauce.
Only now have I completed the vaccuming of the gourd chunks from my rug. Now I have tea, and I am listening to the Smiths, and I cannot be stopped.
My sheets are in the dryer, and I will fold myself into them while they are still warm and read, either "A Clockwork Orange," (again) or "The Rules of Attraction." I got a new book, called "Magical Thinking," by Augusten Burroughs. I want to get through these other two and start reading it. A reviewer in a back cover blurb described the tome as "ruthlessly funny ... deliciously perverse." Sounds like my kind of book.
Speaking of reading, Palo has posted some gorgeous quotes from Ovid on her journal, and I recommend you check them out.
I think I may sleep tonight. I tend not to.
It was beautiful to see my daughters play and laugh and forget their troubles. They are not sullen children, but tonight I could see they were truly carefree, with no worries lingering in their minds and I loved it.
I think my cats want me to get offline and play with them now. They keep sitting on the keyboard and blocking my view of the screen. That is fine. This was a kid-centered day and these fine beasts deserve some sugar. smile

I have the James Michie translation, published by The Modern Library.

Caged hamsters? Respect for cats?

What what?

Thank you... very much. Sweet Pickles was never a finer exclamation.
