Things are good. Really good...
For the past two years i have spent a majority of my time working on the Obama campaign. I was a founding partner in a group called 008 that ran a bunch of official fundraisers and events here in Los Angeles before I joined the campaign as a Media Adviser here in CA. I did that for about six months. Then one day I was at a party and Ii ran into my pal Shepard Fairey and asked him why he hadn't made a poster yet... the very next day he sent me this...
That day i resigned from the campaign and ever since have worked with Shepard running that campaign and working with many many other grassroots artists making art and getting it out to people who wanted and needed it...
We have made a lot of art andproduced events all over the country... at the Democratic National Convention we put together a huge art show hosted by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and comedian Sarah Silverman. We put on a huge public, outdoor concert with the Silversun Pickups, Nada Surf, Cold War Kids, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and DJ Z-Trip. Inside our private VIP concert we built a super-group performance with Ben Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie), Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley), Matthew Caws (Nada Surf), Johnathan Rice and Zooey Deschanel (She & Him). Yeah, I know... bonkers. It was really really amazing. 10,000 people came though. Look at my FLICKR PAGE for pics of the event.
Right now, I am planning another event/art show... even bigger, if you can believe it, for the inauguration of Obama in Washington DC.
...and yes, I've met him quite a few times...
