I have an amazing sense of smell. That is the one sense that can take me back to another time completely. Here in Los Angeles, every time it rains, I relive Portland daze in brilliant shades of grey. The smell of wet pavement reminds me of lovers, the pull of a cigarette, and spanish coffees at Huber's.
Someone brushed past me on the street and the scent of their clothes hit my nose and immediately I was taken back to freshman year, spring break, where the first boy who broke my heart came flooding back into my brain. I used to breathe him in whenever I got the chance, so much as to take what I could to make me believe a heartbreak wasn't all he would leave behind for me.
I don't understand how I could ever make someone's pulse race, but the thought of it makes my own go crazy. Dangerous? Not me. Maybe... Elaborate.
i have an early 7 am class on m, w, and friday and -(underlined) its a math class. i'm going through some discontented times which usually end up screwing up my sleeping patterns. sometimes, for no real reason at all,i bolt out of bed like i have something very important to do. sometimes lying in bed and thinking is a drag. it helps to get on with the day.
