I don't think it's just boys who do this.. i think in general people move WAY too fast in relationships.. we that urge and desire to love and be loved that we often don't think we just go with the "feeling" which isn't always a good idea!!!

i have to say that seems lame.
6 years is a long time, my ex and i were together for 5 and he didn't ask me and that was really a huge problem in our relationship.
but then i met my sweetie, completely by surprise, so sometimes it's actually for the best.
