So I have been a member for maybe like a month, and this is my first blog. I would introduce myself, but I'm pretty positive that is the purpose of my profile. Instead I would like to pose a question to anyone who wants to answer.
What does a girl have to do to meet new people in Denver? Not just any new people but ones that I would eventually call friends. I'm not fond of the idea of going to a bar/club to actually meet someone and have a conversation, but at this point, I'm not sure what else there is here.
I currently take online courses, but I am planning on transferring to a college here next spring, so hopefully that will help. I really don't want to wait another year to meet people though, and college seems to be the main course of action unless you knew someone prior to moving or make friends at work. lol unfortunately for me, work is a dry cleaners so most of the people I meet are not in my age group and aren't exactly fond of the same things I am.
The first girl I met here was off true.com, and she told me she goes to porn shops to meet girls, which seemed a little intimidating to me. Not sure why, but it's hard for me to fathom techniques for striking up conversation in a porn shop. "Oh hi, nice strap on you have there...want to try it out?" Not exactly the most clever line...and I'm not sure if I could pull something like that off.
I also met a girl off myspace, who turned out to be pretty awesome, and then the third is a bartender at this place I go to some. I'm ashamed to say that I am so shy when trying to meet girls that it kills me. I hate not knowing what I am getting into...like if I were on the prowl for a man I would have no problem, because chances are, unless I go to a gay bar, most of the men in the surrounding area are interested in my gender.
When I meet a girl, I hope she is into chicks, and then worry that if she isn't and we get to be friends, my interest may pose a problem. Does that make sense? Geez.
Early evening rantings and thoughts. Possibly ridiculous, but completely honest.

I have a friend that meets and talks to new women where ever she goes. Her attitude is if they aren't interested in women now, they will be when she's done with them. It seems to work for her too! Really, Really, well!
