this guy at work borrowed 2 bucks last week and this morning he stops me out on the production floor and says I need to confess to you. Then, with much grief, he details from past to present his addiction of gambling and how his wife left him over the weekend because he lost his car due to it... now, what would roy do? well hell, the way people treat me at work I should have slapped him and said where is my two bucks, and threaten that if he didn't have it by third shift tonight I'd tie him to a forklift and set him on fire. BUT, he is actually a really awesome guy, one of the only guys at work who has maintained any level of courteously with me since the ERRORED test, He wasn't saying, "hey, I can't pay ya today but if you get me 10 bucks I know I will get you 12 tomorrow, plus interest!" what he was actually trying to convey is that he didn't want me to loan him any money ever again because he's trying to get his wife to love him again... that was in his own words... and I was really touched by it. He was really happy I heard him out without being angry or without changing my opinion of his character... infact I gave him my cell phone so he can call and talk about it when he's tempted, hell, he wants to learn computer stuff so whenever he is aching to go, I said I'd come over and teach him simple repair stuff and he was taken by the idea... he really means well... you could tell the only reason he started gambling is for the chance to be a "better" (wealthy) person for his family. Who can call him a scumbag for that?
