I have a way of over thinking things sometimes, and sometimes this is a down fall, especially when people take advantage of this.

Victor, who is now a supervisor under Colleen, used to be the Otter lead keeper. This morning, he came to me asking if I was available this afternoon because there was something very important that he needed to talk to me about. I told him that I was free whenever he needed to talk. About an hour of so passed, he asked again when I was free because what he had to say was really serious. I began to freakout thinking that I was in trouble, but I remained calm on the outside - giving myself a headache on the inside.

Finally this afternoon, he called me on the radio asking where he could meet me. I was in the middle of medicating bats. He met me there.

(Background information: one of the Otters is named Heath).

So in comes Victor. He pulls me aside and says that it's really important that I keep to the Otters diet. That he takes caring for the Otters seriously. Then finally he breaks down and starts to laugh. Out from behind his back he pulls out a Heath Bar. To make a long story short, I was initiated today. It was planned to make me freak out, just to give me a chocolate bar that shares a name with one of the animals that I am now in charge of caring for. I don't even like chocolate that much.

Because I'm not already stressed out.

The problem now is that everyone else thinks that I can do the job. I just have to convince myself.

Just have to convince myself.

Yup. Good luck with that one. (Yes, I know I'm giving myself a pep talk... I'm a dork).

Pooh.

You would not have gotten the job if they didn't think you could do it. So now enjoy the new position and the otters? What type of otters does the zoo have? And watch out for the spraints biggrin
