I do miss this music and these bands ...
But before this blog I did not know the genre was called IDM.
And wikipedia-ing it, that Detroit was one of it's origins. Fuck yeah, Det-Riot!

Remember these (both from England though).

Some of the more dischordant bands like Aphex Twin would put me in a strange mood because their music seemed nightmareish, but they sure make awesome freak movie/video scores as your postings demonstrate.
